The Minutes Books

Contents

The minutes books mainly contain reports of meetings – ranging from speaker meetings and visits all the way through to dinners. They also contain miscellaneous notes on topics of interest to the Society.

They have been kept with varying degrees of diligence by the officers of the Society over the years. The reports vary greatly in style according to the idiosyncrasies of those then in office. The style of these reports has been copied into HTML as closely as possible to give some idea of the range of style. Readers are asked to remember, though, that reports were written in the days following a meeting or, if written on the night of a meeting, possibly through a port-induced haze!

As indicated, more information is available about some years than others. All members are asked to contact the Society with any additional material they may have but this is particularly true of years where little information has survived in the Society's own records.
