247 Egremont was summoned to appear before the King and Council on 3 March 1453/54, but he kept apart in such secret places that the writs could not be served. He was joined by the Duke of Exeter, and in May 1454 the Duke of York, then Protector, found it necessary to proceed in person against them. Exeter, and Egremont and his brother Richard, were ordered to appear before the King and Council on 25 June 1454.
