  Married: The marriage of Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex, to Rachel Meghan Engelson, née Markle, was valid in the Church of England according to the revision of its canon law made in 2002 by the General Synod, which provided “exceptional circumstances” in which “a divorced person may marry again in church during the lifetime of a former spouse.”
