    Notes:

    He was taken by his grandfather, shortly after the death of Hotspur (his father), to Scotland, where he remained in the care of the Duke of Albany for about 10 years.

    He was slain ex parte Regis at the first Battle of St. Albans.

    When travelling in Prussia in 1383 he hurried back to Flanders to take part in the expected fighting there in the Bishop of Norwich's "crusade," and in that year began his official work on the Border, as a commissioner to receive money due from the King of Scotland.

    In 1385 he attended Richard II on his expedition into Scotland.

    In May 1386 ("as Henry Percy the younger, whom the Scots call Haatspore") he was sent with a large force to Calais.

    In August 1387 he was in command of a squadron at sea against the French.

    In January 1390/1, being sent on some mission abroad—query, to Calais—he had licence to make his brother Ralph his deputy; he returned during the year.

    In March 1343/44, as Henry de Percy le fitz, he was going abroad with the Earl of Arundel in the King's service.

    He fought at Crécy, 26 August 1346.

    In 1346 he was still in the retinue of the Earl of Arundel; in June 1347 he was in the train of the Earl of Lancaster.

    In 1348 he served on a commission of inquiry in Yorkshire.

    In November 1349 he went on service to Gascony, under the Earl of Lancaster, and in August 1350 fought in the King's naval victory over the Spaniards off Winchelsea.

    In March 1352 he was a commissioner to receive King David of Scotland on his return to captivity.

    In October 1353, and following years, he was a commissioner to treat as to the return of King David, and for peace.

    On 20 January 1355/56 he was among the witnesses to Edward Balliol's surrender to Edward III of the Kingdom and (golden) crown of Scotland.

    In September 1355 he crossed with the King from Sandwich, being made marshal of the royal army in Calais.

    He took part in the King's expedition to Champagne in October 1359.

    He was one of those who took the oath for the observance of the treaty of Brétigny, and who escorted King John of France to Calais.

    In August 1360, and in 1362, he was a plenipotentiary to negotiate with David of Scotland.

    On 19 October 1364 he witnessed at Dover the marriage treaty of Edward, Earl of Cambridge, and Margaret, Duchess of Burgundy.
